We are proud to share the successful completion of our recent giving initiative, which raised vital support for students and helped advance access to quality eye care in communities near and far. As part of its year-end fundraising efforts, NECO launched a $50,000 matching gift campaign—doubling the impact of all donations made through June 30. This initiative reaffirmed NECO’s steadfast mission to educate and train the next generation of optometrists in clinical excellence, empathy, innovation, and commitment to equity.
“In a world where the demand for vision care continues to grow, especially in underserved communities, our graduates are meeting the challenge with compassion and expertise,” said Dr. Howard Purcell, President and CEO. “This campaign gave our community a meaningful opportunity to directly impact students’ futures and the patients they will one day serve.”
Thanks to the generosity of NECO’s donor community, the College made significant progress over the past year, including:
Increasing scholarship support to reduce the burden of student debt and make optometry careers more accessible
Expanding clinical outreach efforts, bringing eye care to vulnerable populations and enriching student learning through hands-on experience
Investing in state-of-the-art technologies and relocating the Clinical Training Center back to NECO’s Beacon Street campus to enhance immersive education
